Figuring out how to best get from place to place and utilizing Public Transportation can be a little daunting. The Independent Living Specialists at LIFTT can help you determine your best options, help you learn the system as well as working with you step by step until you are comfortable riding the system available. Below is some basic information on travel options in our service area as well as a useful link to the Montana Department of Transportation website that regulates services across the state.
City of Billings Met Transit
All of MET’s buses are accessible by citizens who use wheelchairs and other mobility devices. They are wheelchair lift-equipped and accessible to all citizens that are unable to use the stairs.
For questions about lift-equipped services, please call the MET office at (406)657-8218. If requested, larger print materials or other alternative accessible formats are available.
MET Plus is a para-transit program for citizens who are not able to use the fixed-route MET bus service due to a disability. Specially equipped vehicles provide curb-to-curb service for persons certified as eligible. To obtain an eligibility form or to schedule rides, call (406) 248-8805.
Hours of Operation
MET service is provided from 5:50 am to 6:40 pm on weekdays and from about 8:10 am to 5:45 pm on Saturday – except for a one hour lunch period on Saturdays.
No bus services are provided on Sundays or the following six holidays:
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Fourth of July
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
Peak hours are the busiest travel times for MET. They are 6:40 am – 9:45 am and 3:15 pm – 6:15 pm on weekdays.
During these times, peak-service routes are provided. These routes are in addition to the full-service routes that run all day.
Baker-Fallon County Transportation System
Hours of Operation
Local Service: 8 am – 4 pm: Monday-Saturday
Out-of-town Service: Hours change to meet demand (Normally 8 am – 6 pm)
Routes and Schedules:
- Demand Responsive – Primarily within Baker city limits
- Occasional service to and from Plevna when requested
- Out-of-town to Miles City – 1st Wednesday of each month
- Out-of-town to Dickinson, ND – 3rd Wednesday of each month

We make trips to Miles City, Billings, Gillette WY, Ft Meade, Spearfish, Belle Fourche, and Rapid City, SD. We schedule the trip as soon as someone calls in for an appointment, then we advertise it in the local paper, on our local TV station and web site. We encourage our passengers to call as soon as they know they need an appointment so we can coordinate our trips with others. Everyone is welcome to ride.

Bus remains in town Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays due to Congregate Meal times for seniors. Bus is scheduled to travel to Baker every 1st and 3rd Wednesday and to Miles City every 2nd and 4th Wednesday.

Trips to Billings 1st Wednesday and Thursday of every month leaving Eagles Manor at 7:30 am. Leaving St. Vincent’s at 3:30 pm.
Subsidized Taxi rides:
Sunday-Thursday: 7 am – 11 pm
Friday-Saturday: 7 am – 2:30 am

Billings Trips – Leaves Eagle’s Manor in Miles City and drops off at Billings Clinic and then St. Vincent’s Healthcare upon arrival in Billings. Richland County Transportation Service

Welcome to Richland County Transportation Service! I want to thank you for taking the time to learn more about Richland County’s only public transit agency. We welcome passengers of all ages and for all destinations within our service area. RCTS is happy to serve all of Richland County’s major towns/cities (Sidney, Fairview, Lambert, Savage) at least one time each week.
We want to make using RCTS as easy as possible. Simply call 433-RIDE (7433) or email e-mail and tell us when and where you would like to go. If the requested time slot is available, we will schedule you for your desired time or schedule you for the nearest time slot available. Please note that reservations made at least 24 hours in advance will give you the greatest chance of securing your desired time and will allow you to ride at a substantially cheaper rate.
Please take a moment to sign up in the Alert Center and Calendar section to the right. In doing so, weather related delays, cancellations and other important events will be e-mailed to you as they occur; you can also choose to have it sent straight to your phone.
If there is anything I can do to make your experience with RCTS more enjoyable, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
