‘Living Well with a Disability’ orientation set for Nov. 16
November 13, 2018
Living Independently for Today and Tomorrow (LIFTT) will be holding an orientation meeting for those interested in taking part in an upcoming ‘Living Well with a Disability’ workshop. The orientation meeting will be held on Friday November 16 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Billings LIFTT office (1201 Grand Avenue).
Using a curriculum developed by the Disability & Health program at the University of Montana’s Rural Institute, “Living Well with a Disability” introduces a goal-setting approach and teaches problem-solving skills. “Living Well” also provides tools for managing health and making healthy lifestyle changes, increasing physical activity, developing and maintaining healthy relationships, improving nutrition, avoiding depression and frustration, and advocating for community change that will help maintain gains.
Topics to be discussed at orientation include information about class circiculum and expectations as well as setting times and dates for future classes.
