#GivingTuesday: Help out LIFTT this Holiday Season!

November 28, 2017

Living Independently for Today and Tomorrow (LIFTT) is joining with non-profit organizations across the globe in participating in #GivingTuesday. Held annually on the Tuesday after US Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events “Black Friday and “Cyber Monday,”  Giving Tuesday is designed to kick off the winter holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their communities and to give back in impactful ways.

“Despite having been around since 1988, so many times we hear from consumers and community members that LIFTT and its services are “a well kept secret.” In this era of reduced federal, state and even foundation support LIFTT needs this to change and we hope by participating in #GivingTuesday we can begin to reintroduce ourselves to the communities we serve;”  said LIFTT executive director Jennifer Cleland.

About LIFTT:  Living Independently for Today and Tomorrow (LIFTT) is a nonprofit 501c(3), federally designated independent living center serving 18 counties in Southeastern Montana. LIFTT provides advocacy and resource services to people of all ages and all kinds of disabilities. The goal of LIFTT’s services is to provide our consumers with the tools necessary to be able to live free, independent and productive lives within their own homes and communities as opposed to living in controlled or institutionalized settings.

About #Giving Tuesday: #GivingTuesday is a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in all 50 states and in countries around the world. This year, #GivingTuesday falls on November 28. #GivingTuesday harnesses the collective power of a unique blend of partners
to transform how people think about, talk about, and participate in the giving season. It inspires people to take collective action to improve their communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they believe in, and help create a better world. #GivingTuesday demonstrates how every act of generosity counts, and that they mean even more when we give together.
