Youth Empowerment class to be held in March

Living Independently for Today and Tomorrow will be holding a series of classes designed to introduce youth with disabilities, ages 14-21, to the independent living philosophy. The classes will be held on Tuesday Evenings in March (8,15,22,29) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the LIFTT office, 1201 Grand Avenue in Billings.
The classes will cover topics such as:
- Goal setting and attaining goals
- Problem solving
- Choice making and decision making
- Self-advocacy, safety, and risk taking skills
- Disability awareness and acceptance
- Self-determination and leadership skills
- Understanding and access to assistive technology
- Self-disclosure of disability and requesting reasonable accommodations
- Positive thinking, efficacy, and expectations
